Indigenous-Focused Early Childhood Education
The Indigenous-Focused Early Childhood Educator (IFECE) Diploma Program at Louis Riel College (LRC) is a pioneering initiative, being the first of its kind offered by a private college in Manitoba.
Early childhood education is one of the most vital and rapidly growing career fields in the province. With the increasing demand for quality childcare, this profession is set to expand and evolve well into the future.
Our program offers a “play-based, child-centered” approach, where students are immersed in an educational experience that reconnects them – and the children they will teach – with the land, language, and Elder teachings.
Our mission is to prepare you to thrive as an Early Childhood Educator. As an Indigenous-focused college, we take pride in helping our Indigenous communities overcome the barriers often found in traditional education. Upon graduation, we hope you will embark on a career that shapes the future of Indigenous children, laying the foundation for them to become lifelong learners.
Our diploma program is designed to ensure that graduates are fully prepared for employment, with all the essential courses and training needed to succeed in the field.
